A place to dance
Spatial performance, a place to dance
This thesis explores the dialogue of art and function in architecture. Space can be defined in a number of ways, a fraction of which are actually physical. Architecture is charged with defining space for a certain function, and depending upon the function of the desired space, definition occurs amid a range of tangible and intangible forces. Architecture certainly must perform through its physical and pragmatic makeup, yet can also perform in ways beyond the tangible nature of building. This project aims to create a dialogue between the various, often contrasting, elements which define architectural space. In doing so, the art of architecture and the function of architecture can dynamically perform together.
